How to make cleaning a fun activity for kids

Ok, so it’s like pulling teeth trying to get kids to clean up their rooms sometimes, even on a not so nice day, so it stands to reason that it’s almost impossible during the summer. I read this neat little trick, and am willing to share it for others to try out. The next time the kids need to do some room tidying, make this not so fun kid’s activity a little more interesting by either: reading a favorite story aloud or playing music while they do it.
The second part of this trick is to set a limit; have them clean for as long as it takes to read 10 pages of a book, or listen to 5 songs (you pick the length). In this way, kids will know just how long they’ll be cleaning for and will be entertained while doing so.
